Are you stuck in TOEFL Hell?

Escape by studying online
with one of the most experienced teachers in the world.

Stop wasting your life with…

… practice that doesn’t change your TOEFL score.

… advice from people who don’t actually know what you need.

… classes that fix only 1 of the 12 reasons why your score might be low.

It’s time…

… to be guided by a real expert.

… to get a result from practicing.

… to finish with TOEFL and move on with your life.

You need the 12 classes of “The ESA Method: The Essentials” if…

… you know more about TOEFL iBT than the teachers you’ve studied with or interviewed and weren’t impressed by.

… you have a shelf full of TOEFL books and a computer full of TOEFL programs, websites and PDF documents to study. Plus, people in your life keep giving you advice. You’re drowning in information.

… you get emotional when you see those ridiculous posts in Facebook groups about people who passed TOEFL after studying for just 2 hours with YouTube videos.

… you have spent hours and hours and hours studying… but despite that, your scores on TOEFL iBT are “stuck.”

… you avoid talking to certain people who ask you, “Aren’t you done with TOEFL yet? What’s wrong with you?” You feel terrible and you have trouble sleeping or relaxing.

… you feel guilty about taking a vacation or celebrating your birthday because you constantly feel like you should be studying for TOEFL iBT.

… you wonder if God is trying to send you a message.

… you tried changing jobs. You even considered moving to another state. No matter where you go, you are totally trapped with TOEFL iBT.

You have to get the scores.

YOU HAVE TO…

Before starting, I was somewhat hesitant because it was my first online course. I remember vividly when Jaime Miller told me, “My course is designed so that there is zero risk of not getting the desired TOEFL iBT score.”

As soon as the first lesson was complete, I was totally confident that The ESA Method would be way more effective than any in-person course.

– J V, lawyer from Brazil (final scores: Speaking 26 Writing 27)

What is “The ESA Method”?

To understand The ESA Method, watch the video below.

“The ESA Method” can help you raise your score, even if you’re confused, and even if other tutors said, “I don’t know why you’re not getting your score….”

By following The ESA Method, we’ll uncover your obstacles and design a plan to overcome them.

“Getting 26 on TOEFL Speaking was the most difficult task I’ve ever done in my life. After getting my FPGEE, in total, I took TOEFL over 20 times. Then I began studying with Jaime and discovered something about myself – that I cannot give up without getting my 26.

Jaime, thank you so much! I’m a person again.”

– S C, pharmacist from Russia (final scores: Speaking 26 Writing 24)

Register early to make sure that your Learning Kit arrives. In the US, you can receive it within 3-5 business days. However, if you are in another country, it could take 3-4 weeks to arrive.

Before Class 1, you will also have my exclusive Technology Orientation Session that will ensure you are set up to study TOEFL iBT online efficiently.

In addition, you will take a realistic practice test for TOEFL iBT.

In order to benefit fully from the classes, you should have a printer, ink, paper and a 3-hole punch near you while you study.

Focus:

    • How to Score 23+ on TOEFL iBT Reading and Listening (… which, as a result, simultaneously makes easier to score 26+ on TOEFL Speaking)
    • How to do a “Score Analysis” and identify the trends in your Reading and Listening errors
    • Jaime Miller’s favorite, simplest strategies
    • Jaime Miller’s Theory of Vocabulary Acquisition (or, “How to prioritize which of your hundreds of new words you need to learn”)

Why You Need It:
If your goal is to get a Speaking score of at least 26 on the TOEFL iBT test, you need a strong foundation. If your Reading and Listening scores fluctuate between 18 and 21, you are probably also missing key details when you do Speaking Task 3, 4, 5 and 6 (because you must read and listen there, right?).

In order to guarantee you get all the “Topic Development” points on Speaking (and the Integrated Writing), you need to be sure you can catch at least at least 80% of the details. At least…

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, January 8th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 5. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • Jaime Miller’s orientation to scoring 24+ on TOEFL iBT Writing
  • How to do a “Score Analysis” of both essays and identify which categories of the scoring criteria are your biggest weaknesses

Why You Need It:
About 80% of people make the same grammar and vocabulary mistakes when they write as when they speak. If you can’t identify and fix those mistakes when you have 20 and 30 minutes to do the TOEFL iBT Writing, then how can you avoid those same mistakes when you have just 15, 30 and 20 seconds to prepare and speak? You can only fight one fire at a time. After you stabilize your Writing scores, it will be easier to make the same changes in your spoken English.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Thursday, January 10th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 7. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:
TOEFL iBT Writing: Integrated Essays and How to Consistently Maximize Your Score

Why You Need It:
On TOEFL iBT Speaking, there are two tasks that require you to summarize academic concepts: Task 4 and Task 6.

If you can’t get Topic Development and Language Use right in 20 minutes on Writing, then aren’t you probably making some of those same kinds of mistakes on Speaking, Task 4 and 6?

In order to dramatically increase your chances of getting all the points for Topic Development and Language Use (Grammar and Vocabulary) on 33% of the Speaking section, you need the confidence and certainty that comes from accurately summarizing an Integrated Writing.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, January 15th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 12. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

TOEFL iBT Writing: Independent Essays and How to Consistently Maximize Your Score

Why You Need It:
On TOEFL iBT Speaking, there are two tasks that require you to summarize your opinions: Task 1 and Task 2.

If you can’t get Topic Development and Language Use right in 30 minutes on Writing, then aren’t you probably making some of those same kinds of mistakes on Speaking, Task 1 and 2?

In order to dramatically increase your chances of getting all the points for Topic Development and Language Use (Grammar and Vocabulary) on 33% of the Speaking section, you need the confidence and certainty that comes from getting a high score on Writing when you express your opinion.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Focus:
How to stop making your most common “Language Use” (Grammar and Vocabulary) mistakes on TOEFL iBT Speaking and Writing

Why You Need It:
You probably already spent years studying English in school. Your teachers already taught you so much grammar and vocabulary! So of course you feel bored (and annoyed) when a teacher tries to teach you grammar… Again? You’re probably saying, “I know this!”

But if that were true, you would be consistently scoring at least Writing 25+ and Speaking 24+. The problem is that you don’t know WHY you are still making mistakes in spontaneous writing—so how can you stop making the same mistakes in speaking?

We’ll cover an approach that fixes mistakes like these… they’re called “fossilized” mistakes by most English teachers because they don’t know how to help you change them. (I do.)

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM PST (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 19. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • Jaime Miller’s orientation to TOEFL iBT Speaking
  • Flexible templates to answer all 6 tasks
  • Lists of phrases to organize and speak score-maximizing responses
  • Model responses from people who actually scored 26-30 on TOEFL iBT Speaking

Why You Need It:
The good news is that you can’t ask Jaime Miller a question about TOEFL iBT Speaking that she hasn’t already heard. Why? After close to 10 years of guiding students out of TOEFL hell, she knows the problems that you actually have, and the problems that you think you have.

Rather than discuss how difficult TOEFL Speaking is, you’ll begin taking practical steps towards answering the questions you know about — and the questions you haven’t even realized you need to be asking.

Get in. Sit down. Buckle up. Get mentally ready to become the new version of yourself who gets the score.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Thursday, January 24th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 21. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Task 1-2
  • What limits and maximizes your score in terms of Topic Development and Language Use
  • How to train yourself to speak confidently and accurately

Why You Need It:
In order to get a Speaking score of 26+, you need to impress the TOEFL iBT Graders.

Trust me, they’re not impressed with those unnatural and easily memorizable phrases that you learned those free YouTube videos—and they’re sick of hearing “I believe this for two reasons. The first reason is because…”

Don’t worry—by the end of this class, you’ll have high-quality responses that are unique to you, and you’ll have the confidence to create more whenever you need them.

Now THAT’S impressive!
Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, January 29th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 26. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Task 3
  • How to make your “fair” Task 3 response into one that gets a score of “good”
  • Activities and protocols to guarantee you get all the points for Topic Development and Language Use

Why You Need It:
As many as 6 different TOEFL Graders can listen to your responses. The Graders who evaluate your Task 1-2 responses will probably not be the same ones who grade your Task 3 response. This means you that no single person is listening to every response and averaging them or giving you the benefit of the doubt.

To get the score you need, you have to impress a new person every time you speak.

In this class, we’ll make sure you understand and consistently start producing high-scoring Task 3 responses. When you master the skills it takes, you can do that consistently and confidently… every time.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Thursday, January 31st, 2019
(The class will be repeated on March 28. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Delivery
  • What makes an accent, anyway? What Jaime Miller means when she says “pronunciation,” “rhythm,” “stress,” and “intonation.”
  • Quick, effective activities to clearly articulate the 24 consonant and 14 vowel sounds
  • How to improve your accent when you speak TOEFL iBT responses

Why You Need It:
Despite whatever rumors you may have heard it, your accent is absolutely a factor in your TOEFL iBT Speaking score.

98% of students never got any help from their previous English teachers about English pronunciation. Statistically, it’s likely that you need to do at least some work on your accent. But where do you start?

In this class, we’ll cover the essential concepts and introductory practice. Unlike all those free YouTube pronunciation videos, everything we talk about is directly connected to your performance on TOEFL iBT Speaking.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, February 5th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on April 2. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Task 4
  • How to take notes that allow you to speak a simple, easy-to-understand definition
  • The grammar and phrases you need in order to clearly and accurately describe the professor’s example

Why You Need It:
So many people lose points for Topic Development and Grammar simply because they over-complicate their responses for Task 4.

The goal of this class is to make sure that you understand how “simple” is better.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Thursday, February 7th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on April 4. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Task 5
  • Why your note-taking style could be sabotaging your score
  • How to consistently get all the points for Topic Development and Language Use

Why You Need It:
It should be obvious by now that your performance has to shine on every single one of the six tasks. By saying, “If I were the woman, I would…” you indicate that you haven’t actually read or thought about the prompt.

By the end of this class, you’ll have experience using Jaime Miller’s flexible template (that allows you to summarize the right amount of details and explain what you think the man or woman should do to solve their problem).

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Tuesday, February 12th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on April 9. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

Focus:

  • TOEFL iBT Speaking: Task 6
  • How to consistently maximize your score in terms of Topic Development and Language Use

Why You Need It:
Because you’re performing for 3-6 different TOEFL Graders, you have to finish strong. Not to mention the fact that if your career is in the healthcare industry, then one of your job responsibilities is to explain information to your patients so that they trust and respect you.

By the end of this class, you’ll have practice creating Task 6 responses that will get high scores in Topic Development and Language Use — and consistently make you sound like the intelligent, educated person you are… in English.

Time:
We start at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (California’s time zone) and we go until 1:30 PM. The class is 5 hours because you have time to do practice activities.

Date:
Thursday, February 14th, 2019
(The class will be repeated on April 11. You are welcome to join those without paying extra, if you need to review.)

After the classes, if you feel like you still need extra help and support to answer your questions, Jaime Miller can continue with you in private lessons.

My final score was speaking score 26 sharp! Exactly what I needed as a Physical Therapist applying for a green card in the US. The funny part of the story is that I didn’t have a good day at the exam.

Jaime’s guidance and the content of the materials I had access were so powerful that even on a bad day, I got the 26!Jose

When Jaime Miller is giving her lessons, she’s not distracted by anything. I’ve seen tutors who make you feel like they don’t care or they are so busy to stay and listen to what you’re saying. She always asked, “Do you have any questions?”

That made me feel that she was really present at that moment when we’re having the lessons. And after the lessons, she knows what she’s doing with every single student, which is amazing because our family members, friends and coworkers —they can’t understand what TOEFL is.

We need someone who can really understand TOEFL and who can really have us feel stronger, optimistic, and even feel like TOEFL is not a big thing. With Jaime, you have all the resources to go the test and then overcome the test. Christina, Pharmacist who scored S26

What Kind of Timeframe to Expect with The ESA Method:

In the 12 sessions outlined above, Jaime Miller presents the essentials and basics of how to get your target TOEFL iBT scores in just 6 weeks. Before each session, there are at least a couple hours of preparation activities. After each session, you will need to continue self-studying and practicing with the techniques that Jaime Miller introduced.

Many students require further help (after learning the essentials and basics).

There are many factors that influence the rate of your progress, which are beyond any teacher’s ability to control. Your memory, energy, motivation, and belief in yourself all impact how quickly you make progress.

Generally speaking, you should not expect results faster than the following guidelines:

Reading / Listening, Speaking, Writing
To increase a total of 8-20 points in 3 or 4 section areas, it typically takes between 8-12 months. In order to get more advanced scores in Speaking and Writing, many students need to dedicate a significant amount of energy to learning new vocabulary.

Speaking and Writing
To increase 5-10 points, total in both sections, it typically takes between 3-7 months.

Speaking Only
To increase 2-3 points (for example, from 23-24 to 26+), it typically takes between 1-4 months. At the same time, there are some people who spend over a year bridging this gap.

Note: Some people cannot get an advanced Speaking score because their Listening score is weak (below 23). In order to expect results this quickly, you must already have stable results in Reading (23+), Listening (23+), Writing (24+).

It is possible that you could see results faster, but it is also possible that it could take longer. The guidelines are written above to give you a general estimate of how long it typically takes students with The ESA Method.

However, that is a not a guarantee. Sometimes it takes longer to see results. People who have levels of anxiety and/or depression may see slower results.

Why and how is this totally different from every other TOEFL iBT program?

  • This is not a pre-recorded video course. Every one of the 12 classes is personally led in live, real time by Jaime Miller. As a result of teaching for TOEFL iBT since 2010, and training over 40 teachers how to teach exams, Jaime Miller is one of the most experienced tutors for TOEFL iBT that you can find.
  • In each class, you have time to immediately start practicing with the techniques and strategies that Jaime Miller presents. If you finish each class (either live or by watching the recording later), you will take steps towards measurable changes in your TOEFL iBT scores.
  • You get The ESA Method “Learning Kit” shipped to your door. The “Learning Kit” was designed by Jaime Miller after 8 years of observing how adults typically need to study for the TOEFL iBT. Because you’re organized from Day 1, you make faster progress.
  • You’ll discover your common mistakes with grammar, vocabulary and accent in TOEFL iBT Speaking and Writing responses — if you choose to share your responses with Jaime Miller in classes.
  • After the 12 classes, you are eligible to continue in private lessons for TOEFL iBT with Jaime Miller. These 12 classes guarantee that you have a rock solid foundation to take private lessons from Jaime in the most efficient way possible.
